Overview

ISaGRAF is a software product that allows to create distributed or local control systems. It's the combination of a control engine (Virtual Machine), and an application development environment (Workbench).

The Workbench works with all control languages ​​of the international standard IEC61131, except IL. The output of the development environment consists of TIC (Target Independent Code) to ensure maximum portability of applications.

The Virtual Machine is offered, with sample porting, ready for use on Windows, Linux, VxWorks, CE 3.0 and QNX. However, the control engine has been designed so that the source code of the Virtual Machine is available in toolkit format, allowing its portability to any operating system or hardware platform. The toolkit in fact contains the complete set of C ANSI run-time sources.

Furthermore, starting from version 5, ISaGRAF supports the IEC-61499 standard for distributed control.

We normally recommend two to three days of initial product training by our trainers for our new customers. For complex applications it is possible to organize "ad-hoc" consultancy courses.

Technical information

ISaGRAF consists of a workbench in a Windows environment and a target available for practically any hardware with or without an operating system.

ISaGRAF currently distributes and supports version 3, version 5 and version 6 of the product. Version 4 is instead abandoned because all its features have been integrated into V 5.x.

ISaGRAF supports both the IEC 61131 standard and the IEC 61499 standard. The latter has unmatched features for the development of distributed control applications.

In fact, large "packages" of code can be encapsulated in a container that also includes the related state machine. These “packages” can be allocated on a hardware network node with a simple configuration, ISaGRAF in fact takes care of automatically reconfiguring the “binding” of the software interfaces.

Commercial information

Each ISaGRAF Workbench license in versions prior to V6 is supplied with a USB protection hardware key that enables the modules and functions purchased. There are different ISaGRAF licenses, differentiated only by the parameterization of the key.

The ISaGRAF Workbench licenses available for versions prior to V6 are:

  • Distributed
    It allows you to develop, simulate and "debug" control projects distributed over multiple controllers.
  • Essential
    It allows you to develop, simulate and "debug" control projects consisting of a single "virtual PLC", obviously this is the best-selling option. The Essential version has different sizes depending on the maximum number of managed I / O variables.

The V6 workbench simplifies the situation in a radical way, as it is equipped with all the features offered by the product, without any limitations.

Run-time licenses are simple labels and have a price strongly linked to annual production volumes.

Both Workbench and Run-time volume orders can have scheduled deliveries in 2,3 or 4 batches per year.

  1. Standard ISaGRAF initial training package; it consists of 2-3 days at the customer's office or by teleconference. Generally, they are sufficient to enable the first control application with ISaGRAF to be successfully implemented.
  2. Additional specialized consultancy on particular technical implications of the project (I / O drivers, multi-tasking extensions, etc.).
