On the occasion of the SPS-Italia Prometeo and the Synesis Consortium for technological innovation presented the "Virtual testing and commissioning" solution: the integration of a discrete event simulator (DES) with an IEC 61131/61499 programming environment ( in the specific case ISaGRAF). The solution allows the integrated optimization of mechatronics and automation, allows the testing of the automation software on the virtual model before the factory is completed and allows the preliminary commissioning of the same, with consequent enormous reductions in development and commissioning costs. The solution was also presented at the Round Table on Design and Simulation Systems, receiving an Award.
