Thanks to the collaboration with the CCAM water Public Utility, Prometeo and Bermad carried out the testing of the HP-PMZ software for pressure control in a water district, developed for the new RTU S4W of Lacroix Sofrel. The CCAM test field offered very wide possibilities and therefore allowed the complete testing of the software and of the related user interface on Web Server. The most advanced control algorithms such as Flow Modulation and Virtual Critical Point have also been tested. The tests gave very positive results, demonstrating not only the functionality, but also the versatility and high performance of the solution. The software was tested on a small PRV, which, in Bermad's opinion, made the regulation particularly challenging.

The HP-PMZ software is designed to operate practically with any pressure reducing valve (PRV) equipped with regulation devices (in the case of the CCAM test the unit had two solenoids for downstream pressure increase/decrease and one solenoid for emergency operation) or with a pumping station equipped with a drive.

This type of control allows to obtain important optimization results:

  • Reduction of real losses up to 25-30%
  • Breakage reduction up to 40%
  • Reduction of maintenance costs up to 40%
  • Reduction of energy costs up to 30%
  • Reduction of environmental impact (TonCO2) up to 30%
  • Lengthening of asset life time

Consequently, it is possible to make investments with a 12-month ROI.
